Just wanted to ask you all how you felt about opening up the london trip to people who arent involved in this particular area of the board.

The reason for our trip was to celebrate our efforts to lose weight and treat ourselves to nice shiny smaller clothes. Would you prefer that this remains the case or are you happy to have non-healthy eaters along? (I dont mean that they dont eat healthily, just that they arent taking part here...)

Poll coming!

I think the weight watching meet should be for those of us losing weight as that was the original intention. I dont' see why we can't have two dogbomb meet during the year though. One for those of us in here and one for the wider board.

I'd rather it was for those of us trying to lose, or in some cases, gain weight.

Surely there could be a wider meet for the general board?

As much as I love everyone here, I think it would be best to keep this a weight thing, just as I think a lot of people would forget what it's about.

At the end of the day I don't really mind, as I WILL be losing weight for then, no matter what, but I guess it's be a bit down heartening for peeps who have lost loads, are dead chuffed and then it's not really celebrated.

That was my feeling really. I dont mind Doggy (and/or Mrs Doggy) coming, because without him we wouldnt have a website to do this anyway. But my gut feeling was that we should try and keep this exclusive.

I think it would be great to include other dogbombers, and if this is the only way to do it, so be it.

But I definitely think that there's no way we could combine a general meet with this and still concentrate on the original purpose. I know that with other distractions like pubs and alcohol and food, the shopping and weight-loss side of things will fall by the wayside :(

So I will quote The Offspring and say this: gotta keep 'em separated.

Oh well, that's me out then, since I'm not actively trying to lose weight or diet or anything. Just been a change of life style is all.

Not sure what your plans are, but would it be possible to combine?
Perhaps a celebration for you clever weight-losers first and a shindig with the others later....?

Just a thought, in case I can get up to the smoke, innit?

PS what date are you planning for?

No a bad idea at all. Think the date planned was 7 August or thereabouts....

Hi, you sexy sexy weight-watching people!

I voted for "I'd like it kept exclusively about us weight-lossers, a general meet can be arranged separately".

I genuinely didn't know about the trip, not being an avid reader of this section of the board, but I would sincerely like to come along and meet you all. If you have achieved something through knowing people on a website I created all those years ago... then I want to celebrate with you all.

I don't feel like it should be opened up to the rest of the board, because you guys have all helped each other get to a special place (not London) together and you deserve to be left alone to celebrate.

Bumping this in case people haven't seen it

Thanks Dom, I hadn't seen it.

I wouldn't feel comfortable focussing on my weight around people who weren't also struggling with their weight. If any of my skinny friends start moaning about how fat they are I change the subject, because it makes me very uncomfortable. Since those are my friends, I know it'd be horrible to be there with people I barely know that weren't trying to lose/gain weight which is why I'm not going. But I do hope you all have fun. :D

I was planning to go to this meet up and inquired about time off with my last employer. I also asked this new employer but got a fuzzy, non-committal response (which turns out to be how they respond to most things). I'd push for it but for the fact I upset a few people not long ago with some of my terrible diet ideas and I feel that I would not fit in and may indeed upset someone with a flippant comment. I am prone to saying things that are really offensive when I don't mean them to be, or pointing out things that REALLY didn't need pointing out. Bit like the 'mole' thing out of the Austin Powers movie. I don't need to make any more enemies so I'll sit out of this one and maybe join the general meet if there is one because I'd like to see everyone :)

Besides, I've done a shit job of losing weight.

Whut Whut Whut???

I thought you were going? Who are these extra people who aren't losing weight of which you speak? I wish to meet with you and give you hugs, so please reconsider before I track you down and give you hugs anyway.

Underweight people can join in if they're not trying to lose more weight. Take my advice on your thread and you're welcome to come along. Are you even around for the meet though? :P
