View Full Version : Pele
This guy is the greatest living footballer EVER!Fact! You would think that being such a well known figure he would use his fame to become an ambassador for football, preaching about how great the game is and how we can make it better. But no, instead he appears on my t.v. preaching about something altoghther more sinister. Erection problems. Not only that, no one can understand what he is trying to say cos his English is piss poor. And to top it all off he is inexplicably wearing a bright yellow mac.In a football stadium. OI PELE, STOP MOANING ABOUT THE INABILITY TO GET IT UP AND START DOING A PROPER JOB AND FOR FUCKS SAKE TAKE THAT BLOODY MAC OFF, YOU ARE NOT A FISHERMAN.
that_dood Mar 9, 2003, 20:53 HeeHee.. Peles never annoying, but youre right enuff, that is a truly bizzare ad. You can see the thought process behind it up to a point, "Metaphor fir Sex = Football! Scoring = Pele! Brilliant, lets get Pele!!!" That he agreed to do it at all is testament to The Mans prowess, but having a vaguely distracted geezer wandering onto the pitch, looking for the life of him like hes searching for discarded beercans whilst muttering something (presumably) about Hard-Ons that only Mohammed Ali after ten pints could find understanding with, I ask yer, does this bring the subject of impotence to its rightful place in the forefront of the national conscious?
Pele is actually a bright and relatively coherent geezer anytime Ive seen him otherwise, maybe only agreed to do the ad when he was smoked or summat, dont understand it ataw otherwise. If there are any hobby psychologists (as opposed to hobby pyschos) on here who could deconstruct this masterpiece and provide some explanation for *that* jacket, be right interested as to what in the name of God they were thinking about, half-time every big game, up pops (or maybe flops) The Worlds Greatest Footie Star, mumbling incoherently about erectional dysfuction whilst disguised as Traffic Cone, its not on at all. Make it Taboo again and quickly ah say, if thats the best they can come up with..
Heeksy Mar 10, 2003, 08:50 His "1000 goals" were a bit of a scam, but what a footballer!!!
Get a few Russ Meyer videos that'll cure the old erection problems.

timebomb Apr 1, 2003, 04:13 Kindly remove him!
Blademan Apr 1, 2003, 13:12 One of the most overrated footballers of all time. Everything looks fantastic when you look back on it 30 years later. But was he any better than Jairzinho, Tostao, Gerson, Rivelino, Garrincha etc. etc.
Line em all up and we'll have a good ol chat about hard-ons.
"Pele does a fantastic dummy on the keeper....then misses an open goal"
"Pele's caught the keeper off his line from the kick-off....but missed"
Maradona was 10 times the player Pele was but nobody likes him because he's not squeaky clean. Fantasy Footy League (the much-loved (?) Skinner & Baddiel) did a great feature showing that Pele was, in fact, shite. Every week they'd show a clip or two of Pele blasting a penalty out of the stand, or trying a back-heel and falling over. You'd never catch a true football genius (Cruyff, Maradona, Bergkamp) doing that.
ihategobshites May 13, 2003, 13:16 You say that he was shite- but at that World Cup Final in Sweden when he was only 17, there arent many players who can score the goal that he scored. He is one of the greatest players to have graced this earth...but not the best i agree.
Jeff_wode May 13, 2003, 13:48 Maradona's the best footballer ever...oh, shit this is the pele thread. I don't find him annoying, whther he can get it up or not.
